Restorative Shot is a cheap Tier 1 weapon mod that turns your gun into lane sustain: on a short cooldown your next bullet heals you, a big chunk off an enemy hero and a smaller top-up off troopers. It's an early stay-in-lane buy for bullet heroes — slot it when you want to win trades and farm without recalling, and it adds weapon damage on top.
When to buy
Pick it up in the laning phase, usually as one of your first 800-soul weapon items if you're a gun hero who plants in lane and trades a lot. The heal is far bigger off heroes than off creeps, so the value spikes in melee or short-range matchups where you're already shooting the enemy laner. It's a lane-phase item first: by mid game the flat heal stops scaling, so don't expect it to carry the fight — you buy it to win the lane, then it rides along for the weapon damage or gets sold up into a bigger slot.
Is Restorative Shot worth buying?
Yes, for gun heroes during laning — it's a cheap Tier 1 weapon item that lets you stay and trade instead of recalling, and a recent patch buffed both the heal off heroes and off creeps. It's much weaker as a late pickup once the flat heal falls behind.
Does Restorative Shot heal more off heroes?
Yes — tagging an enemy hero heals you for far more than hitting a trooper or an orb, so try to have the proc ready when you're shooting the enemy laner rather than spending it on farm.
