Imbues
An imbue attaches an item’s special effect to a chosen ability. The important choice is which cast gains the most useful new action window, not simply which ability already shows the biggest damage number.
Overview
Match the effect to the cast
Extra range belongs on a spell that repeatedly falls short; a reload effect belongs between firing windows; a delayed splash wants a reliable hit near other enemies. The same ability is not automatically the best recipient for every imbue in a build.
Test the sequence after choosing
Use the imbued spell in the order you expect during a fight, then check whether the follow-up is actually available. An effect attached to a spell you must save defensively may rarely activate on offense. Revisit the choice when a build changes its main job.
