When to buy & tricks

A Tier 3 weapon item that turns staying in a gunfight into armor: every time your bullets tag an enemy hero you gain a stack of Bullet Resist, so the longer you keep firing the more enemy gun damage bounces off you. On top of that it carries flat Weapon Damage, max ammo and bonus health, which makes it a clean buy for gun-DPS carries who want to stand and trade through a fight instead of poking and retreating.

When to buy

This is a brawler's survivability piece for gun heroes. Buy it once fights are getting longer and you're committing to extended trades — heroes like Wraith, Vindicta, McGinnis, Infernus and Mo & Krill who park on a target and keep the bullets flowing ramp the resist fastest and get the most out of it. The catch is the one-stack-per-shot rule: each shot only ever grants a single stack, so spread and multi-pellet weapons (Abrams, Pocket, anyone running Split Shot) and explosive alt-fires bank far less than a fast single-shot gun. It's also Bullet Resist only — it does nothing against a Spirit-burst assassin, so buy it when the enemy threat is guns, not spirit.

One stack per shot — fast single-shot guns ramp the resist way harder than shotguns or pellet spreads, where the whole blast only counts once.
The stacks linger after you stop firing, so resist you built early in a teamfight carries you through the messy part.
It's Bullet Resist, not damage resist — don't slot it expecting to survive a spirit caster's burst.
Pairs naturally with fire rate and magazine size: more bullets on target means you hit max stacks sooner and refresh them longer.

Is Escalating Resilience worth it?

On a sustained-fire gun carry, yes — it's a flexible Tier 3 weapon buy that makes you progressively tankier the longer you hold a fight, while still adding weapon damage, ammo and health. It's weak on burst, spread and shotgun heroes that can't keep stacks up, and useless against pure spirit damage.

Does it help against spirit damage?

No. It only grants Bullet Resist, so it cuts enemy gunfire but does nothing for incoming ability or spirit burst. Buy it into gun-heavy lineups, not against a Spirit-scaling assassin.
