Blood Tribute
Toggle: Continually sacrifice Health to improve Fire Rate, Debuff Resistance and Move Speed.
Active — bind to a key and trigger it (Z/X/C/V).
Blood Tribute is a late-game weapon toggle: flip it on and you bleed a steady chunk of Health every second in exchange for a big Fire Rate spike, Debuff Resistance and Move Speed. It's a sustained-fire carry's damage button — you turn it on when you have the Health (and ideally the lifesteal) to feed it, and the constant DPS boost is some of the rawest weapon power 3200 souls can buy. The catch is the drain and reduced healing while it's active, so it's a combat stance, not a passive you leave on.
When to buy
Buy it as a late weapon slot on hitscan and sustained-fire heroes who hold their crosshair on a target and already run sustain — the Fire Rate jump is one of the biggest raw DPS buys in the game, and the Debuff Resistance makes you much harder to lock down in a teamfight. It wants bullet lifesteal next to it: if your gun out-heals the drain, you're net-positive while you melt people; if it doesn't, the bleed quietly eats you. Skip it on squishy burst heroes who fight in short windows off cooldowns and never empty a clip into one target, and on anyone with no healing to offset the cost — for them the Health drain is pure downside.
How to use it
Treat the toggle like a combat stance. Flip it on as a fight opens while you still have Health to spend, then let bullet lifesteal top you back up through the spray. Don't switch it on as a panic escape — healing is reduced while it's active, so it actively fights your sustain when you're already low. The drain won't kill you (it stops short of suicide and leaves you a sliver), but a sliver is one shot from dead, so flip it off the instant you break off so regen and incoming heals work at full value again. The one time low Health is fine to push through is the Debuff Resistance: pop it to shrug off slows and silences when you need to reposition or chase, then turn it back off.
Is Blood Tribute worth it?
Yes on sustained-fire carries that run lifesteal — it's one of the highest raw weapon-DPS buys in the game and a top-pick late item for a reason. The cost is the constant Health drain and reduced healing while it's on, so it's dead weight on squishy burst heroes with no sustain to feed it.
Should I just leave it toggled on?
No — treat it like a combat stance. Turn it on when a fight starts and you have Health plus lifesteal to spend, and turn it off when you disengage so your Health regenerates and incoming heals land at full value instead of the reduced rate.
