Active — bind to a key and trigger it (Z/X/C/V).
Heroic Aura is a team item that happens to sit in a weapon slot: it passively wraps nearby allies in bullet resist, and its active dumps fire rate and move speed onto you and everyone around you — with troopers soaking double the buff. You buy it to turn a won fight into a tower, snowball a 5-stack push, or crack a stalled lane, not to pad your own DPS.
When to buy
This is a mid-to-late group pickup, not a laning-phase buy. It does close to nothing while you're farming a camp alone — the value only shows up when you're grouped with allies or running a trooper wave into an objective. Slot it once teamfights and sieges start deciding the game, ideally on a hero who's already up front so the aura covers the most teammates. It's a strong one-slot pickup for a frontline carry or a support-leaning hero who tends to call the push.
How to use it
Pop the active right before you commit, not after — the fire rate and move speed help the whole team land the engage and run down kills, so treat it as the go signal. The biggest swing is on troopers: they take double the buff, so pushing with Heroic Aura up turns your wave into a battering ram that chunks Guardians and Walkers far faster. The bullet-resist aura is always on, so just standing near teammates in a brawl already shaves the gun damage everyone is eating.
Is Heroic Aura worth it?
On a team that fights and sieges together, yes — it's a high-winrate teamfight and push item because it stacks bullet resist on everyone and doubles the buff on your troopers. On a solo-heavy lineup or a lane bully who never groups, the aura is mostly wasted, so spend those souls on personal power instead.
Do I buy it for the active or the passive?
Both pull weight, but they do different jobs. The passive bullet resist runs the whole time and quietly tanks fights; the active fire-rate and move-speed burst is the payoff, so treat it as a fight-starting cooldown and fire it as you commit, not as an afterthought.
