Mystic Shot
Mystic Shot is a Tier 2 weapon item that, on a short cooldown, loads a chunk of bonus Spirit Damage onto your next bullet — and because that bonus scales with your Spirit Power, it keeps growing as you build spirit. It sits in a weapon slot but pays you back in spirit value, so it's the classic bridge buy for spirit-gun hybrids, hits hardest on guns that dump one big shot, and adds Weapon Damage on top.
When to buy
Buy it on heroes who shoot but win with Spirit Power — the proc converts a gun hit into burst that scales with the rest of your spirit build instead of falling off. It's an early-to-mid pickup that's especially clean on weapons that fire one heavy shot: charged bows, snipers and shotguns dump the whole spirit bonus in a single tap, where a fast SMG spends it on one of many bullets. It also doubles as a cheap, weapon-slot source of Spirit Power, so spirit heroes shopping weapon items often grab it early. Skip it on pure weapon-damage carries with little to no spirit scaling — they get nothing out of the proc and want raw fire-rate items instead.
Tricks
The bonus rides your next bullet, so the whole trick is choosing which bullet eats it. Hold the shot until you can land it on a hero, not a creep, and on burst weapons like Grey Talon's charged arrow or a shotgun blast you deliver the full spirit chunk in one hit. Because the damage scales with Spirit Power, every later spirit item also buffs Mystic Shot retroactively — it's one of the few weapon items that stays relevant into the late game on a spirit build. Track the cooldown the way you'd track an ability: the proc is ready again roughly every few seconds, so weave it into your trades rather than wasting it on farm.
Is Mystic Shot worth buying?
On spirit-gun hybrids, yes — it's a cheap Tier 2 weapon item that adds Spirit Power plus a proc that scales with the rest of your spirit build, so it stays useful into the late game. On a pure weapon-damage carry with no spirit scaling it's mostly wasted; buy fire-rate items instead.
What weapons does Mystic Shot work best on?
Single-shot, high-damage guns. Since the bonus loads onto one bullet, charged bows, snipers and shotguns deliver the full spirit hit at once, while a fast-firing SMG spends it on just one of many small bullets and gets less per proc.
