When to buy & tricks

Headshot Booster is a Tier 1 weapon item that adds a chunk of bonus health and loads your next headshot on an enemy hero with extra weapon damage. At 800 souls it's one of the cheapest, most impactful early buys for any precision shooter — land a head in lane and you're suddenly trading way above your gun's stat line.

When to buy

Grab it early — this is a laning-phase item. The bonus health alone helps you sit in lane and contest last hits, and every headshot you land turns into a real chunk of someone's bar. It's strongest on heroes who reliably tap heads: snipers and precision shooters like Vindicta and Grey Talon get the most out of it. Spray-and-pray shotgunners and SMG brawlers who rarely land clean heads should spend their first 800 elsewhere.

How it works

The bonus only sits on your next headshot, then it needs a few seconds to recharge, so the value is front-loaded into the first head you land each engagement — not sustained DPS. Open trades and harass with a headshot to cash in the spike, then keep poking with your normal gun while it comes back. It also builds into bigger weapon items later, so it's never a wasted slot.

Open every lane trade with a headshot — that first tap is where the bonus lives, the rest is just your base gun.
It only procs once then recharges, so don't expect sustained damage; treat it as burst, not DPS.
Pair it with weapon-uptime items so you're firing the moment the bonus is back up.
Low value on shotgun and heavy-spray heroes that can't reliably land heads — buy survivability or fire rate instead.

Is Headshot Booster worth it?

Yes for any hero that lands headshots — at 800 souls it's one of the best early weapon buys for lane pressure, giving you both survivability and a real spike on each first head. If your aim is loose or your weapon sprays, skip it.

Which heroes want Headshot Booster?

Precision shooters and snipers — Vindicta, Grey Talon and similar hitscan heroes who reliably tap heads. Brawlers and shotgunners get far less, since the bonus only rewards a clean headshot.
