High-Velocity Rounds is a cheap Tier 1 weapon passive that speeds up your shots and adds a bit of weapon damage. Faster bullets mean less leading on moving targets and cleaner last-hits in lane, so it's a strong early buy for ranged heroes and for anyone with a slow base bullet speed who keeps losing the soul battle. It also opens the bullet-velocity line, feeding into Sharpshooter and Armor Piercing Rounds.
When to buy
Slot it in the lane phase when bullet travel time is costing you souls. Heroes with slow base projectiles — think Dynamo, Abrams or Lash — feel the upgrade most, since their shots finally reach creeps and poking targets before they drift out of the way. Ranged farmers who want to confirm last-hits and trade from a safe distance also like the early accuracy. If your lane is already a close-range brawl, velocity matters far less than fire rate or raw damage, so you can skip it or pick it up later purely as a component for Sharpshooter or Armor Piercing Rounds.
Is High-Velocity Rounds worth it?
On ranged or slow-bullet heroes, yes — the velocity smooths last-hitting and long-range trades for a small price. On close-range brawlers it's mostly a cheap path into higher-tier weapon items, so don't force it as your first slot.
Does High-Velocity Rounds help my aim?
Indirectly. It doesn't move your crosshair, but faster bullets reach the target sooner, so you lead moving enemies less. Shots feel closer to hitscan and land more reliably at distance.
