Taking any damage passively charges up your Pain Battery. Once full, activating the ability fires multiple shocking bolts, dealing Spirit Damage once per target.
Deal Spirit Damage to yourself. Then, gain bonus Regen and Bonus Move Speed, decaying over time.
Unleash pain, dealing Spirit DPS to both enemies and yourself. The damage continues to increase the longer the ability is channeled, up to a maximum amount.
Release a wave after taking lethal damage, applying a diminishing slow. After a brief channel you reanimate, dealing Spirit Damage and applying Stun to nearby enemies.
Victor is a spirit bruiser built around one promise: you can't kill him. He plants himself in the middle of the brawl, turns the damage he eats into Pain Battery charges, ramps Aura of Suffering on the whole enemy team, and out-sustains them with spirit lifesteal until a revive ult flips the fight. He's a low-complexity, high-impact frontline pick for players who like to walk in, soak, and grind — not poke from range.
Lane defensively and let the enemy feed you: every bit of harass you eat charges Pain Battery, which you dump back off cooldown for a chunk of spirit damage and tempo. Use the pistol purely to last-hit and deny — its job is souls, not duels. Jumpstart is your reset button: pop it for the burst of regen and move speed when a trade goes sideways, but respect that its self-damage is pure and ignores resist, so don't fire it at critical HP. First buys are spirit power plus sustain (Extra Spirit, Extra Regen, Mystic Regeneration, Healing Rite) so Aura and Battery don't bleed you out. Fear early burst before you have any resist — give ground rather than dying for a wave.
This is where Victor switches on. Once you have Spirit Lifesteal and Spirit Resilience, being focused is a feature: the brawl heals you faster than they can pull you down, and resilience kicks in exactly because you live at low HP. Pre-cast Aura of Suffering before you reach the fight so it's near max ramp on contact, then walk in, soak, and let cooldown reduction cycle Pain Battery and Jumpstart. He's one of the best objective contesters in the game — with the reworked Urn capture being a king-of-the-hill sit, Victor can solo-hold the point and out-grind divers who can't burst through his sustain.
Late, Victor is the frontline initiator. Dive the backline, eat their burst, and use Shocking Reanimation as a weapon rather than an escape: die inside the group so the revive's AoE and ~1.5s stun catch multiple enemies, then pop back up into a fresh, re-ramping Aura. Escalating Exposure and Spirit Burn turn that brawl AoE genuinely lethal — anti-heal plus burn on everyone standing in your Aura. Refresher gives a second ult and a fresh Aura in a long objective fight, effectively doubling your unkillable window. Your win condition is the extended sit, never the long-range trade.
Pre-ramp Aura before contact, and stack Torment Pulse on top for a second passive DoT — Spirit Resilience and Spirit Lifesteal convert the self-damage into net healing. The signature trick: keep Aura active as you're dying, because it keeps ticking through the revive channel and auto-reactivates with a fresh ramp when you reanimate, so you stand up inside your own damage zone plus the stun. Pain Battery at 5 AP heals ~20% of missing HP, so bait a finishing trade while low, then dump a full Battery into the attacker to heal a huge chunk and flip the duel — he's scariest at low HP, not full. Use Jumpstart as a cleanse button against anti-heal and heavy slows (it now gives ~50% debuff resist and halves active debuff durations). Aura + Ethereal Shift is the best burst dodge that doesn't drop your damage: you go untargetable while the DoT keeps pulsing. Cheat Death plus the ult means enemies must kill you roughly three times to actually win the fight.
Cheap spirit power plus regen so Aura and Jumpstart self-damage don't bleed you out of lane. Extra Spirit scales the whole kit; Mystic Regeneration pays you back when your spirit ticks land on heroes; Spirit Strike adds melee harass that shreds their resist.
Improved Spirit
Spirit Lifesteal
Spirit Resilience
Torment Pulse
Mystic Vulnerability
Superior Cooldown
The 'unkillable' core comes online. Spirit Lifesteal turns Aura and Battery into healing; Spirit Resilience rewards living below 50% HP and softens your own pure self-damage; Torment Pulse and Mystic Vulnerability stack AoE damage and strip enemy resist; Superior Cooldown cycles Aura, Jumpstart, and ult faster.
Luxury teamfight power. Escalating Exposure snowballs Aura on whoever you sit on; Spirit Burn adds an explosion, burn, and anti-heal to your spirit damage; Boundless Spirit is the stat capstone; Refresher resets everything for a second ult and a fresh Aura in a drawn-out objective fight.
Flex picks. Ethereal Shift dodges burst while Aura keeps ticking; Spellbreaker eats one big nuke against burst mages; Cheat Death stacks with the ult for a triple-death dive; Debuff Reducer and Unstoppable cut or cleanse the CC and anti-heal that counter your sustain.
Is Victor good for beginners?
Yes. The frontline gameplan is simple, the sustain is forgiving, and the revive ult buys back mistakes. The skill ceiling is all in timing: when to ramp Aura, where to die with the ult, and when to fire item actives. He's easy to pick up but easy to play badly into kiters who refuse to brawl.
Weapon or spirit Victor?
Spirit, basically always. Pain Battery, Aura, and the ult are spirit damage, and Jumpstart's self-damage is pure — the whole kit scales with spirit power. The pistol is only a lane tool for last-hits and denies. Build spirit power, then cooldown reduction, then sustain.
How do you play the ult well?
Don't waste Shocking Reanimation as a free escape. Bait the enemy to commit, die inside the group so the revive's AoE and ~1.5s stun hit multiple, keep Aura on through the channel, and have follow-up ready when you reanimate. Cheat Death doubles its value by giving you a second death.
What counters Victor's sustain?
Anti-heal stackers (Healbane, Decay, Toxic Bullets) and long-range kiters or percent-HP heroes like Shiv and Grey Talon who chip you from outside Aura range and never brawl. Seven and Kelvin are awkward. Out-tempo them before the anti-heal piles up, or buy Debuff Reducer to shorten it.
A lot of people spend their whole lives wondering who they really are. For Victor, this existential question is made more complicated as he woke up on a mortuary table with no knowledge of his creator, why he was made, and whom he is made of.
Now searching the five boroughs for answers, Victor is hoping to find someone who can identify any part of him.
