Manipulating time lets Paradox outpace an enemy in one on one combat. She thrives by subjecting her enemies to timely swaps into a waiting pulse grenade, her wall, or into the middle of her teammates.

Throw a grenade that begins pulsing when it lands. Each pulse expands the radius and applies Spirit Damage, time slow, and stacking Damage Amp for Paradox against the victim.
Create a time warping wall that stops time for all enemy projectiles and bullets that touch it and increases the speed and damage of friendly bullets. Enemies that touch the wall will be briefly slowed and silenced .
Charge up a powerful shot of time energy, dealing Spirit Damage and applying a Time-Stop to enemies hit. The damage dealt increases with Weapon Damage. Move speed is increased while charging. While in the air and charging, ADS to timeslow your movement.
Fire a projectile that swaps your position with the target enemy hero.
Paradox is Deadlock's time-bending pick specialist — a mid-range weapon carry who wins by isolating and deleting one key enemy. Her loop is to stop a target with Kinetic Carbine, Paradoxical Swap them into your team or onto a waiting Pulse Grenade, and freeze the enemy's return fire with Time Wall while it amps yours. She's weapon-leaning, hard: Carbine and Time Wall both scale your gun, so build bullets and splash only a little Spirit for utility. With a 3/4 complexity, a slow Swap projectile, and unforgiving charge management, she's a high-skill pick that rewards setup over greed.
Burst Fire wants range, so poke with controlled bursts and last-hit cleanly, then back off the moment your 40-round clip dumps — you're paper-thin while reloading. Charge Kinetic Carbine behind cover to threaten a poke: if they see the charge they'll dive away, so emerge late and slam. Drop Pulse Grenade to zone the orb wave or punish a creep-greedy laner — its pulses phase through cover, so you can deny safe farm and stack the slow on anyone who lingers. First buys lean gun with one Spirit splash for the grenade: High-Velocity Rounds makes long-range bursts and Carbine pokes reliable, Monster Rounds and Headshot Booster give cheap lane power, and Healing Rite keeps you on the poke. Your spike comes once Carbine's time-stop is online and you can convert a single hit into a guaranteed Swap.
This is Paradox's window. Roam with a charged Carbine — the move-speed buff makes you faster while threatening a pick anywhere. Stun with Carbine, then Swap the squishy out of position into your team, or Swap them onto a Pulse Grenade you pre-threw at the ground. Time Wall a choke to win any bullet exchange: their projectiles freeze mid-air while your shots get the speed-and-damage boost. Contest Urn hard — a Time Wall straight across the king-of-the-hill capture circle is oppressive now that both teams must stand in it. Core mid items are Point Blank and Sharpshooter to amp the Carbine finish at both ranges, Fleetfoot and Kinetic Dash for kiting and air-charge repositioning, and Slowing Bullets to glue a target into the stun-and-Swap window.
With Glass Cannon online you become a Carbine Cannon — the charged shot near-deletes a stunned backliner. Stay at the range your team peels for and treat Swap as both your initiate and your get-out. In a teamfight: wall the enemy carry's line so their damage freezes, Carbine-stun and Swap their highest-value target into your focus, and drop Pulse on the clump for the stacking slow. The June meta is spirit-heavy, so you need defense — Diviner's Kevlar's resist plus revive shield is a top survivability buy, Ethereal Shift gives you an invuln window to safely charge Carbine, and Armor-Piercing Rounds plus Crippling Headshot keep your gun killing tanks and squishies alike.
Carbine + Time Wall sandwich: charge Carbine, drop Time Wall in front of you, step out and fire — your shot eats the friendly-bullet buff while their return fire is frozen. Grenade-then-Swap is the signature pick: throw Pulse at empty ground, then Swap an enemy into the pulses and into your team. Never fish Swap raw at a moving target — it's a slow projectile, so land Carbine's time-stop (or a Time Wall slow/silence) first, then yank. Sharpshooter Carbine sniping works because Carbine ignores weapon falloff, so the range amp is pure upside — your charged shot hits harder from max range than point-blank. Echo Shard lets you double Time Wall to seal a whole choke or Swap a second target. Air-charge Carbine to time-slow your fall and, with the air-dash buff, float over a wall onto an unsuspecting target.
Win burst trades and stay on the poke, with one Spirit splash to make Pulse Grenade bite.
Weapon spike plus pick setup: amp the Carbine finish at every range, stay mobile, and stick targets for the Swap.
Carbine Cannon finish with real survivability against the spirit-heavy meta.
Spirit-zone and anti-CC variant that leans into the buffed Time Wall and a harder-hitting Pulse Grenade.
Weapon or spirit Paradox?
Weapon, hard. Kinetic Carbine amplifies your gun (not spirit) and Time Wall buffs bullets, so build Point Blank, Sharpshooter and Glass Cannon and splash only a little Spirit (Extra Spirit, Improved Spirit) to make Pulse Grenade hurt.
What do I max first?
Kinetic Carbine — the stun plus damage scaling is your entire pick combo. Value-point Pulse Grenade for lane and zoning; Time Wall's scaling is very strong after the buff for a flex/zone build.
How do I land Paradoxical Swap?
Don't fish it raw at a moving target — it's a slow projectile. Stun with Carbine first, or Swap someone already diving you, then pull them into your team or onto a pre-thrown Pulse Grenade.
Is Paradox good right now?
Yes — she was buffed across the board and her CC and zoning shine in the new capture-circle Urn. She's mid-tier but rising, with the flex/zone build gaining the most.
Paradox. An artifact of time, and the name of a notorious thieves' guild... one that prides themselves on constructing elaborate heists that target the most untouchable of individuals and institutions. What does Paradox do with the countless artifacts, state secrets, and celebrity paternity tests that they have stolen? Put it on display at pop-up museums, so that they can show the world that no one is out of Paradox’s reach.
Shrouded in mystery, each member of Paradox dons a mask and takes on the organization's name. They are everywhere. They are nowhere. And if they want something, they are inevitable.
